Cuttyhunk Plein Air | Saturday, June 18
After two years of painting-in-place somewhere not on Cuttyhunk Island, artists and friends once again boarded the M/V Cuttyhunk in New Bedford, MA and travelled across Buzzard’s Bay on Saturday, June 18 for the Cuttyhunk Plein Air Festival. It was a stunningly beautiful day on Cuttyhunk with nearly perfect temperatures, gorgeous high clouds, and sun throughout most of the day. The event concluded with an outdoor reception, juried by Bob Smith and Jodi Stevens where I was surprised and honored with the Purchase award. I enjoyed connecting with lots of nice people, and made another great memory to hold close. The only thing missing from the day was the company of my sister, who accompanied me on my first trip to this wonderful island in 2019. Missed you sis, but I thought of you as I did the “Sound of Music” run down the hill. 🙂
